What was to be a New Year’s Eve Wedding, turned into a spring time celebration for Emily and Grant! Like many events in 2020, their wedding was pushed to a later date. When I first met Emily (over 2 years ago), I could tell how excited she was for the big day. I vividly remember her wanting a princess gown and lots of sparkles, and it was so fun to see her light up when she finally got to have her moment in her dream dress!
Emily and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents home, just outside of Charlotte. It was the perfect setting, and Emily’s mom has the best taste in decor! We loved that it was a special place for everyone to get ready, while also a beautiful backdrop for pictures. After getting ready everyone got on the trolley and left for St Matthews Catholic Church, where the ceremony would take place.
In classic spring fashion, it began to rain right before the ceremony began (which we always say is good luck!). It only rained for a short time and the skies opened up when it was time to send the newlyweds out of the church. It was such a fun exit to have the streamer wands for guests to hold, while Emily and Grant got in their Rolls Royce!
The reception took place at The Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, and CLUX truly outdid themselves with every detail. We loved how romantic it felt walking into the ballroom, and the stunning cake was center stage as soon as you walked in. Because of their original new year’s wedding, they danced the night away until 12:30am and even had fries and coke as a late night snack for all of the guests.
This was truly such a fun wedding to be a part of and the perfect day for these two (even if they did have to wait a few extra months for it)! Enjoy looking through some of our favorite images that tell the story of Emily and Grant’s wedding day!
